There was banter going back and forth in the stands. Your previous Anony's. talked about scattered UT fans chanting for JPW (let's call him Parky)to get hurt or NAILED. When a multitude are able to start a cheer in unison while a player is hurt seriously on the field, it is seen as CLASSLESS and FLORIDA-ESQUE. Thats why UT's Students and FANS were bothered.
We can't be responsible for individual lack of class, but when 1,000s cheer inappropriately a response is to be expected.

As for myself I did not par-take in the F U Bama and clapped for their efforts after the game.
Go Vols and be glad you lost by just 3 you homers.
 

First Anonymous, you make a good point about the fans who made the comments about JPW, but there's a big difference between making a joke at a bar in the middle of some trash talk and actually cheering loudly when a player goes down with a real injury. I seriously doubt the UT fans you're referring to would have cheered had something actually happened to JPW. And by the way, no one was pointing the finger. If you listened to the clip, I was merely raising an issue and drawing no conclusions.

They were probably cheering and didn't realize he was hurt. Well if they were in the Bama section of Neyland. They were definitely not close enough to see what was going on.

Also those two girls in the video on this board, I am pretty sure if JPW went down they would have laughed.

BTW this is a heated rivalry. You expect worst, and hope nothing really bad happens. If the worst was some cheering of an injury player. It was one of the better days.

Then again I am not a Bama fan, but it looked to me that the Refs saved Tenneesse's butt in that game. PI my butt. Bama fans and players got a taste of good old fashion Neyland home cooking. Throw this win up to the refs. From my view Bama had you, and the refs let you win the game. BTW I don't think it was a completed pass either. Too bad Neyland didn't have cameras where they need them on the goal line.

Sorry Bama I thought you deserved the win, but refs decided different. Good luck nexy year in BDS, maybe there you get some Home cooking.

We should have pulled this one through, and I am so disappointed.

But ....... I have never seen such a lack of class in all my days of football. I have been going to almost every game since my college days in the early 90s..... I have never in all my life seen a whole student section screaming "xxxxxxxxxx Bama" over and over again in all my life!!!! I was in absolute disbelief!
For those of you who were not there ... there was a TN player down ... from my seats in QQ, you could not see it. We had just made a great play, so obviously our fans were cheering. As soon as they showed him on the jumbotron as being down, they stopped. This is when the nastiness from them began. The guy behind me (a TN fan) was screaming we were so classless for cheering while one of their players was down. Then when they started with their cheer, I turned around to look at him .... I said "Is that what you call class" ... his response being ... claps, and "I love it!"...

Needless to say ....... I hate UT so badly ... never have I seen such a lack of class in all my times! Very sad!

It seems it was a misunderstanding. I really doubt anyone would cheer for a player being down.
 

I find it shocking that somebody actually believes that the refs handed UT the game. I guess everybody's entitled to his or her opinion, but I think most Tennessee fans and Bama fans can agree that UT was the better team and won it on the field.
 

I was there at the game, and I am a Vol fan. I think the Alabama fans were cheering when they saw that he was not seriouly injured. No one really knew if he was or not at that time, but I do not believe Alabama fans to cheer for ANY injured player.

Football is football, and it is important to us, but someones health, the ability to walk, and perhaps play one day again are important to all SEC fans.

I hung out after the game with a mix of UT and BAMA fans and saw no problems. Everyone seemed to be getting along pretty well. Especially the BAMA girls who were dancing on the bar and rubbing their asses on me.

I would never compare BAMA with FLORIDA ...not even close. Flordia is nothing but rude, arrogant YANKEES. Bama fans are southerners, and more like TN fans than we probably think.
 

All Bama fans are pieces of crap. For those of you who believe the refs handed the vols the win, you are most likely a bigger dumbass then others really think. Let me ask one thing if they handed the vols the game why did they pick up the pass interference flag that was so obvious. Bama fans are classless and have no disregard for anyone but their own crappy team.
